We are pleased to welcome a new member to yocto.

Today, we introduce Miki Ide, a young engineer responsible for development✴︎
After making a career change from her previous job, she is now honing her skills every day,
focusing on Semantics settings and multilingual support.
Nice to meet you, I’m Miki Ide, a rookie engineer.
In my previous role, I worked at a call center supporting internet connections and PC operations.
After deciding to shift my career to engineering,
I enrolled in the startup and programming school “G’s Academy” (formerly G’s) and completed its six-month program.
I graduated in April and joined yocto in June.
■Self-Introduction
Role/Responsibilities: Engineer (Flutter development — UI implementation & simple API integration)
Focus Areas: Semantics settings, multilingual support, building expertise
Motto: Keep moving my hands, never give up!
■Current Work
I handle UI implementation and API integration in Flutter development.
Lately, I’ve been working especially on Semantics (accessibility/voice reading settings) and multilingual support.
It has been exciting to realize that the apps I’ve used before had such settings implemented behind the scenes.
I also learned that if the right structure is prepared in advance, adding a new language becomes simple.
Someday, I’d like to try adapting one of my own study apps into English.
(Since the initial structure was created by another team member, I also want to challenge myself to build the foundation from scratch.)
■Recent Learning
When configuring Semantics for screen readers (VoiceOver/Talkback), I noticed that the pronunciation of kanji can vary depending on the OS.
Through testing, I discovered that separating the display text from the spoken text allowed me to achieve the desired behavior.
Since I don’t usually use screen readers myself,
this experience taught me the importance of careful testing — and the necessity of handling exceptions properly.
■Work Style & Values
It may sound simple, but I place great importance on reporting, communication, and consultation.
Because we work in a fully remote, fully flexible environment,
I make sure to react promptly on Slack and update project statuses in GitHub (“In progress,” “In review”).
I also make it a point to ask questions without hesitation and to raise my hand for help before it’s too late.
All of this is possible thanks to the kindness and support of my colleagues, for which I’m truly grateful.
■Future Challenges & Goals
My next goal is to find an area I can proudly call “my specialty.” While gaining hands-on experience,
I also plan to pursue certifications to strengthen my confidence and skills.
Currently, I only hold the Basic Information Technology Engineer certification.
Next, I am considering the Applied Information Technology Engineer exam,
a programming-focused certification, or one related to a specific technology.
I want to explore options that are relevant to my work, align with my curiosity, and provide a solid foundation.
Although I may have started later than others, I intend to keep moving forward steadily without giving up.
Message / Contact
I’m still learning, but if you’d like to discuss development or hear about the experiences of a new engineer, I’d be happy to connect.
I’d also love to talk with anyone considering a career change into engineering.

With members like Miki taking on new challenges and joining our team,
yocto has become even more diverse and vibrant.
We will continue to grow together as a team while striving to deliver better products and services.

最近特に取り組んでいるのは Semantics(読み上げ設定)と多言語対応。
読み上げ機能(VoiceOver/Talkback)でSemanticsを設定する際、
